Designing information before designers: print for everyday life in the 19th century

An exhibition and an illustrated talk. The exhibition shows and explains a 19th-century version of 'information design' (which is a late 20th-century idea and practice) and something of people's encounters with printed documents for the transactions of everyday life: calendars, almanacs, tax and insurance forms, trade catalogues, maps, timetables, distance charts. St Bride Foundation, Wednesday 18 November. Three short talks about lesser-known aspects of Isotype, a method for showing facts and connections in pictorial form. The talks draw on new research from the 'Isotype revisited' project at the University of Reading. Read more

The Communication Benchmark Project and Business Mystery MBA exhibition

We have two events on the evening of 29 June at The Cass Business School. The IDA's June meeting will be a talk by David Sless at 6.30pm, and there is also a chance to see the Business Mystery MBA exhibition from 5.30pm. Read more
